The voting members of St. James recently approved spending $45,000 to remodel the parsonage. This will include paint inside and out, new cabinets and fixtures, new flooring, and new forced air heat and cooling. This will be funded with restricted and unrestricted funds and many members are donating time, money, and materials. The voting members also approved to accept the bid from Lyster Exteriors for reshingling the entire sanctuary roof for $18,565.00, to be funded from unrestricted funds. Those who would like to help to beautify and maintain God’s church at St. James are encouraged to consider making an offering to support these projects.
St. James Ladies Guild is organizing a food drive in support of Twelve Baskets Food Pantry in Portage. Items will be collected through Sunday, November 1st and taken to Twelve Baskets. They are currently accepting non-perishable foods, home care, laundry, personal care, baby care, and paper products. They also accept over the counter medications. They try to teach their clients to cook, so prefer not to get pre-made boxed items like mac n cheese. All items must be sealed, have packaging still intact, and must not be expired. If you would like to make a monetary donation, you may do so here: https://twelve-baskets.org/index.php/donations/
